Created and led by Global Campaign for Education, Global Action Week provides everyone for the right to education with an opportunity to highlight the Education for All agenda and advocate for the governments to promote access to quality inclusive education for all. Global Action Week is one of the major focal points for the education movement since the 2000 Dakar World Education Forum. Created and led by the Global Campaign for Education, Global Action Week provides everyone campaigning for the right to education with an opportunity to highlight the Education For All (EFA) agenda and make targeted efforts to achieve change on the ground.
ECOZI, other civil society organisations working on education and the government joined hands in commemorating the Global Action Week in Gweru, Midlands Province on 19 June 2015. The event was under the theme: The Right to Education 2000-
CSOs advocated for the Government of Zimbabwe to make more efforts to promote access to quality inclusive education by abolishing fees and levies, make BEAM accessible to all the needy children (including ECD pupils), abandon harmful practices that take away children from school, infrastructural development that meets the learning needs of different learners, developing policies that promote second chance education, provide conducive working environment for the personnel and avoiding privatisation of education.
